The Petal Pusher Party

Smiles galore! Laughter filled the air! A queen was crowned! Southern cooking was hugs on a plate! Colors, florals and patterns you don’t see in New York City, and the magnificent Joy Godwin regaled us with stories of a bathtub. It doesn’t get any better than that, ladies. Of course, it was bittersweet for me…

If you were not able to attend, we missed you. We really did, because we had a ball! I give all credit to Jesus Christ, my Lord and Saviour, for bringing Coffee Shoppe Talk to life in this community, and I wanted to share a few things I’ve noticed. Through little groups of women meeting in Bible studies in coffee shops, libraries, and clubhouses, God has spoken. He has changed lives, filled loneliness and isolation, impacted families, released fear and anger, given forgiveness and called women to serve. Friendships have been forged that won’t be forgotten and faith deepened in such a dramatic way, others noticed. God moved in this community and He’s not finished yet.

Lastly, it was a great to hear from the founder of MirIAM House, Tami Thomas, and give a donation to support women struggling with substance abuse. She certainly is an amazing example of a woman who was obedient to God’s calling, and He’s doing a great work through her. They are always seeking donations and volunteers, so don’t be shy. You may reach them at (252) 725-3030, Monday-Friday, 10 am- 4pm.

Now for the party pics!
